DK runs for Diabetes UK

Conosco account manager Dominika Krasnicka (or DK as she’s known to most of us), has set herself the ambitious goal of running the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on October 9 at the blistering pace of 1 hour, 30 minutes. DK has set both a personal goal and a fundraising goal, aiming to raise  £350 in aid of Diabetes UK.

DK ran her first half marathon in March this year, surprising herself with a quick time of 1 hour, 40 minutes. ” It was fun, I wanted to do it again and I also wanted to see if I can do it faster this time. I think if I push myself a bit more I can do it in under 1:30.”

Diabetes UK is the leading charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of every person affected by or at risk of diabetes. DK chose to run in aid of the organisation since diabetes is close to home and close to her heart: “My nephew was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was two. He’s 14 now and doing great despite the illness, but I really hope that permanent cure for diabetes will be discovered in his lifetime,” she says.
