iPhone 3G - lacks security and battery life

Industry analysts Gartner have criticised the new iPhone for a lack of security and poor battery life.

Although both new and old iPhones can now be erased remotely if they're lost, they don't currently use any encryption - leaving your data open until you have it erased.

Gartner criticise the battery for not lasting a full day of even light use, probably due to constantly synchronising with a Microsoft Exchange server. Our testing shows that you need to charge it at every opportunity, particularly in areas with poor network coverage.

On the positive side, this week's updated version of the latest iPhone software appears to have cured its laggy responsiveness.
