The cost of a local server installed with Microsoft Exchange can be expensive to buy, setup and maintain.

Conosco’s solution was to store local data, such as Word, Excel and image files, on a basic Network Attached Storage device (NAS); relatively cheap to buy and install. Hosted Exchange accounts were then setup for each user to store their Outlook data. This gives all the benefits of having their own Microsoft Exchange server but without the expense costs involved, instead a low monthly fee.
